Free Tuition Initiative (SATs & GCSE Support)

Sansaar Care has established and funded the Free Tuition Initiative, a structured educational support programme providing free academic tuition to children from disadvantaged or deprived backgrounds.

The programme is delivered in partnership with Bradford Muslim College (BMC) under a signed three-year partnership agreement dated 17 December 2025.

The initiative will provide curriculum-aligned tuition for SATs (Year 6) and GCSE (Year 11) learners, focusing on English, Mathematics, and Science, at no cost to families who would otherwise be unable to access private tuition.

Identified Need and Context

Evidence from schools and community partners indicates that many children from lower-income households face barriers to academic progress, including limited access to private tuition, reduced learning resources at home, and lack of quiet study space. These challenges disproportionately affect pupils preparing for key examinations such as SATs and GCSEs.

The Free Tuition Initiative was designed to address this educational inequality by removing cost barriers and providing structured, high-quality academic support in a supportive and culturally sensitive environment.

Beneficiaries and Public Benefit

The primary beneficiaries are children aged approximately 10–16, specifically:

  • Year 6 pupils preparing for SATs
  • Year 11 pupils preparing for GCSE examinations

Learners are prioritised through a means-testing framework focusing on financial hardship, social circumstances, and educational need. Public benefit is delivered through improved access to education, enhanced academic confidence, and increased readiness for key examinations.

Support Delivered (Planned and Contracted)

Under the agreed delivery model:

  • The programme will run across three 10-week tuition blocks in 2026
  • Weekly sessions will be delivered in small groups (up to 15 learners per session)
  • Subjects covered include:
Primary: Maths and English (SATs preparation)
Secondary: Maths, English, and Science (GCSE preparation)

Sansaar Care has committed £10,000 per year (with an additional £5,000 / year if benefits are proven), plus any Gift Aid secured, to fund tuition delivery, teaching resources, and programme administration

Bradford Muslim College is responsible for coordination, tutor recruitment, safeguarding, learner selection, attendance monitoring, and reporting.

Anticipated Outcomes and Forecasted Impact

As the programme commences in January 2026, outcomes are forecasted based on the delivery model and evidence from comparable interventions. Anticipated benefits include:

  • Improved subject knowledge and exam readiness
  • Increased learner confidence and motivation
  • Improved attendance and engagement with learning
  • Reduced educational disadvantage for children from low-income households

Progress indicators will include attendance data, learner feedback, confidence measures, and (where available) school feedback or mock exam performance.

Risk, Safeguarding, and Governance Considerations

Safeguarding is embedded within the programme design. Bradford Muslim College is required to maintain appropriate safeguarding policies, apply relevant checks (including DBS where applicable), and ensure safe learning environments. Sansaar Care retains oversight through:

  • Quarterly reporting and review meetings
  • Financial reconciliation and audit trail requirements
  • The right to request evidence of expenditure and delivery

Material changes to delivery must be discussed and agreed through formal review mechanisms.

Learning and Future Application

This initiative will provide Sansaar Care with structured learning on:

  • The effectiveness of small-group tuition models
  • Demand for free educational support in deprived communities
  • How educational interventions can be scaled responsibly

Learning from the 2026 delivery year will inform future funding decisions, potential programme expansion, and ongoing refinement of Sansaar Care’s education-focused charitable activities.

Declaration
