Children Emergency Food, Water & Essentials

Sansaar Care provided a targeted charitable donation of £6,000 to Islamic Help, a UK-registered humanitarian charity, to support a child-focused emergency response in Gaza.

The donation funded the delivery of food, clean water, and essential supplies to displaced families with children, with implementation completed in October 2025.

The support was intentionally directed toward interventions that protect children’s health, nutrition, and survival, recognising that children are the most vulnerable group in humanitarian emergencies and are disproportionately affected by food insecurity, unsafe water, and displacement.

Identified Need and Context

The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza has resulted in large-scale displacement, infrastructure collapse, and severe shortages of food, water, and fuel. Children have been particularly impacted due to:

  • Increased risk of malnutrition and hunger
  • Exposure to unsafe drinking water and poor sanitation
  • Overcrowded living conditions increasing disease risk
  • Loss of stability, routine, and safe environments

Sansaar Care identified an urgent need to support life-saving assistance specifically benefiting children, where timely intervention could prevent deterioration in children’s health and wellbeing during a period of acute crisis.

Beneficiaries and Public Benefit

The charitable activity supported approximately 5,275 vulnerable beneficiaries, the majority of whom were children living within displaced households in Al Zawayda Camp, South Gaza.

The primary beneficiaries were children who benefited directly from:

  • Improved access to nutritious food
  • Availability of safe drinking water
  • Increased household stability around children’s basic needs

Public benefit was delivered through immediate harm prevention, reducing health risks to children and supporting their survival during an emergency where normal coping mechanisms had collapsed.

Support Delivered

Islamic Help allocated Sansaar Care’s £6,000 donation across three essential child-relevant emergency interventions, delivered on 16 October 2025:

Emergency Cooked Meals

  • Five large pots of cooked meals (rice and vegetables)
  • Approximately 2,000 beneficiaries, predominantly children and their caregivers
  • Ensured children received immediate nutritional intake in households unable to prepare food

Safe Drinking Water Distribution

  • Five water tankers
  • Approximately 3,125 beneficiaries, including large numbers of children
  • Reduced children’s exposure to waterborne illness

Family Food Packs

  • Thirty food packs distributed to households with children
  • Approximately 150 beneficiaries
  • Supported short-term food security for families caring for children

These interventions were selected specifically because of their direct relevance to children’s survival and wellbeing.

Outcomes and Impact

Sansaar Care’s targeted support enabled a coordinated package of child-protective emergency aid, rather than isolated interventions. Documented outcomes include:

  • Improved nutritional intake for children
  • Reduced risk of disease linked to unsafe water
  • Increased short-term stability and protection for children in displaced households

By stabilising access to food and water, the intervention helped mitigate immediate threats to children’s health during a critical phase of the emergency.

Risk, Safeguarding, and Governance Considerations

Islamic Help is an established humanitarian charity with safeguarding and operational controls appropriate for emergency delivery in conflict-affected settings. Delivery was managed through trusted local partners to ensure aid reached children and families most in need.

Sansaar Care’s governance role focused on:

• Ensuring funds were applied for child-benefit purposes
• Retaining written confirmation of delivery and impact
• Managing risk through partnership with an experienced delivery organisation

Safeguarding responsibility for direct delivery rests with the implementing charity.

Learning and Future Application
